70 WATT 2 METER LINEAR AMPLIFIER BY NR6CA

This amplifier was done many years ago. The device used is out of production but there are many similar devices available that should work nicely in this design. There may even still be a few of the SD-1407 devices around in some junk boxes.

The amplifier is very simple and very stable. When I first built this amp I used it to drive an 8877 to full output. The amp itself provided an easy 90 watts output (though I call it 75 watts) with about 10-12 watts of drive. An upgrade of this amp would be to use the W3KM biasing circuit found HERE.
